One participant is allowed to cast only one vote. The prizes will be awarded by lot to all valid voting participants. The 15 winners will be notified personally in the course of January 2023. The prizes will be sent after we have received the addresses of the winners.

Rules for public votes

Article 1

Flanders DC, hereinafter referred to as “the organiser”, organises the “Stemming Henry van de Velde Awards 23” competition. Participation in this competition is free and does not imply any purchase obligation. The competition starts on Tuesday 15 November 2022 and ends on Tuesday 20 December 2022 at 11:59 p.m.

 Article 2

Any person who shows an interest in the Henry van de Velde Awards, Flanders DC and/or the “Stemming Henry van de Velde Awards 23” competition can participate in this competition. The Flanders DC employees are excluded from participating in the competition.

Article 3

Participation in the competition is only possible via the website www.henryvandevelde.be.

Article 4

Participants should vote for their favourite for the Public Gold Award on the above-mentioned site, enter their email address and answer the tie-breaker question. Participation is only considered valid if all the conditions have been met. Only one participation per participant is allowed. 

Article 5

Fifteen winners will be chosen. The winners are those who cast their votes and who most closely approach the answer to the tie-breaker.

In the case of equal answers to the tie-breaker, the date of participation will determine who the winners are: the first participants will be the winners.

Article 6

Will be declared invalid and null and void: any participation with invalid data and/or participation after the competition deadline.

Article 7

The prize comprises 15 lots:

  • First prize: 1x suitcase Ibon Spinner by Samsonite (together with) worth 319 euros
  • Second through sixth prize: 1x set of four teacups Collage by Utilise.objects for Serax worth 52 euros per set
  • Seventh through fifteenth prize: 1x tea towel Saida/Louis by Leila Hassouna worth 22 euros 

Article 8

In order to receive his or her prize, the winner is contacted to determine an appropriate moment and manner of receipt. If no agreement is reached with the winner, he or she is released from his or her right to the prize. In this case, the prize in question will be awarded to another person.

Article 9

The competition prize is personal and non-transferable. The competition prize is not exchangeable, not even at its value in money.

Article 10

The winner is personally liable for the use of the prize. The winner releases the organiser from any liability.

Article 11

Flanders DC will notify the winner personally by email in the course of January 2023. The winner must comply with the competition rules. If the winner does not meet the criteria set out in these rules, the prize will not be awarded and will remain the property of the organiser, or will be awarded to another participant.

Article 12

The organiser reserves the right to communicate the name of the winner and the competition prize, without any rights other than receipt of the prize for the winner.

Article 13

The participants grant permission to have their identity and address details checked and to have them verified that they correspond with the details on their identity card. Any false statement regarding the identity or home address will result in the immediate exclusion of the participant.

Article 14

The organiser cannot in any way be held liable for any possible incompatibility between the technologies used for the competition and the hardware and/or software configuration used by the participant. The organiser does not in any way guarantee the proper functioning of software developed by third parties.

Article 15

The organiser cannot in any way be held liable for a breakdown of the Internet network, for transmission problems of data or for communication interruptions, a poor connection or for a breakdown of the server. 

Article 16

The full competition rules can be consulted on the above-mentioned website. The organiser reserves the right to change, extend or cancel the course of the competition entirely due to events beyond its control. In addition, the organiser reserves the right to amend the competition prize and/or the provisions of the rules if unforeseen circumstances and/or circumstances beyond its control force it to do so.

Article 17

Participation in the competition means that the participant fully and unconditionally accepts all the provisions of these rules. In the event of problems in the interpretation or application of these rules or in the event of a dispute in the execution of the competition, the organiser shall ultimately decide.
