Textile designer Nathalie Van der Massen cannot be pigeonholed artistically. Her still-young oeuvre moves flawlessly between interior pieces and autonomous objects. No wonder that she is receiving the Young Talent Award this year.
“They are experiences that trigger and inspire me. When I enter a place, the light that shines in can make me genuinely happy”
The jury is presenting the Young Talent Gold Award to Nathalie Van der Massen, who has found her niche within the industry as a textile designer. She is appreciated for the very natural way in which she explores the boundary between art and design. Nathalie makes both unique work and fabrics for the domestic environment. She often works with natural materials and combines industrial and traditional methods. She also conducts research in the field of technology and innovation and has been active internationally for some time.
