The Robovision AI platform gives professional users the right tools to create their own AI programs that automatically recognise visual information. From a doctor creating a program to automatically detect tumours on CT scans, to a worker teaching a robot which parts of a rose need to be pruned, the Robovision interface allows users in a wide range of fields to work with their own visual data. The platform, designed by Loemer, is user-friendly and guides users in training, updating and maintaining smart computer programs, without them having to be experts in machine learning

The jury on the Robovision AI platform:

“The platform makes complex AI technology accessible to various future-oriented applications. What’s more, it was designed as an open platform and can therefore be used in a very wide range of sectors.”

What does this award mean to you?

Lucas Caesens (Loemer): This recognition means that, as a team, we were able to translate highly technical material to non-technical users thanks to the right design choices. It is also very nice as a designer that, in addition to recognition from customers in terms of user-friendliness, I’ve received the same verdict from a professional jury.

How did the idea for this project come about?

Lucas Caesens: After receiving many similar requests from customers, Robovision decided to transform itself from a top AI consultancy agency to an even better product organisation. This included a user-friendly digital product, the Robovision AI platform. Robovision appointed Bart Baekelandt as product manager and gave myself from Loemer as design lead the freedom to put together a UX team to describe and design an interface. In the team, Valeri Soleti and Stivi Imami applied their knowledge of UI and design systems to the functional analyses of Gerland Buckens and William Ghysels.

How does it contribute to a better world?

Lucas Caesens: At the application level, the Robovision AI platform already demonstrated its ability to detect brain cancer quickly, for example. At an economic level, Robovision is democratising access to AI for businesses. It allows them, for example, to make production more efficient or guarantee better quality of their products.

Do you have any further plans for this project?

Lucas Caesens: After launching to customers, we are constantly making small updates to stay ahead of the ever-changing landscape of AI applications. In fact, a new version is coming soon in which the existing user-friendly interface will have an even faster and more flexible architecture.
