Founded in 2017 by Cédric Vanhoeck and Vanessa Counaert, Resortecs enables industrial-scale recycling in fashion thanks to two innovations: Smart Stitch™ and Smart Disassembly™. This puts Resortecs on the map as a Belgian leader in circularity.
Currently, less than 1% of all clothing produced is recycled, largely due to the high costs and complexity in separating different textile materials prior to recycling. Resortecs (REcycling, SORting, TEChnologieS) enables industrial-scale recycling in fashion thanks to two innovations: Smart Stitch™, a heat-dissolvable stitching thread and Smart Disassembly™, a thermal system capable of taking tons of clothes apart automatically.
Resortecs won numerous international awards. The company has already validated its solution with over 50 international textile players. The Smart Stitch™ has been used in collections such as ‘Genesis’ in collaboration with the American jeans brand Unspun and H&M’s capsule collection 'Circular Design Story’. Their latest launches include a summer capsule collection with Spanish giant Inditex (Bershka) and a circular ski jacket with the French Decathlon.
