The C-Mine Chair, a series of chairs and accompanying tables, is part of the MINE Collection designed by Studio Segers for the Centre for Creative Business Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
The furniture is mass producible, and once the C-mine order is complete, the collection will have a second lease of life in the project market and for private use.
The chair is also stackable and has an adjustable seat height. The supporting structure is made of solid beech or oak. The seat and back are made from plywood. The beech version comes in a variety of colours. The chairs are finished with a matte, polyurethane varnish to show the natural grain of the wood to its best advantage.
The chair is made of four round, solid wooden legs connected to cross members. The conical shape of the legs not only gives the chair visual balance, but provides stability. The construction is simple and uses only a small number of joints, which helps keep down the price. Optimal seating comfort is guaranteed by the slight inclination of back and seat, the slight curvature of both parts and the chair’s ergonomically correct dimensions.
