Quinny Jett is the winner of the award OVAM Ecodesign PRO — Product in development.
Mobility solution for a new generation
The world is urbanising at a rapid pace. In 2050, 70% of people will live in cities throughout the world. As a result it is becoming increasingly difficult for people in the city to get around.
In the rush hour, public transport reaches its maximum capacity and cars come to a standstill, resulting in the associated environmental impact. Quinny wants to keep young parents in the city mobile and offer them the freedom to enjoy their urban environment in an environmentally friendly way.
With the Jett, Quinny wants to offer young parents an alternative for bridging longer distances in the city. The fact that the product can be used on footpaths means it is suitable for existing infrastructures in any metropolis. The Quinny Jett works like a longboard: you move faster than you would on foot, with less effort, in a fun, sporty and environmentally friendly manner.
With a child in the buggy seat you whizz past the traffic jams, enjoying the city together in an active fashion. Studio Peter Van Riet and Quinny Team receive a cash prize of EUR 2,000 for their design.
