Planet
The Planet collection is a series of contemporary pots made from recycled materials. Shapes are made using paper discarded by big corporations and sand from the beach, then left to dry in the sun, so that fuel-consuming kilns can be dispensed with. Then the pots are dipped in an immersion bath of biodegradable materials, which gives them a permanent, hardwearing and water resistant coating.

Young mothers on the west coast of Ceylon in Sri Lanka are taught how to make the pots and paid a fair wage for their pottery skills. The pots can be made at home, which allows the women to watch over their children while they work. As a result, this project scores well for its social benefits. The products are not individually packaged, but packaged in bulk in FSC-certified cardboard. The cylindrical pots, plates, oval planters and square dishes are available in five colours: taupe, white, lime green, red and black.
