It is a&nbsp; lightweight functional door demonstrator. The project LWD, designed by hegge ID, is an initiative by Flanders&rsquo; DRIVE.</div>

The aim is to cater to the automobile sector&rsquo;s demand for lighter, comfortable and sustainable materials for use in vehicle production. The project exchanges, combines and tests in an innovative way a variety of materials, processes, techniques and combinations. The result is a demonstrator that signifies a 20% reduction in the weight of a normal car door. Reducing the weight of a vehicle leads to lower fuel consumption and a lower CO2 emission.
